Contemporary Design

Updated: May 28

Contemporary: 1. : living or occurring at the same period of time. 2. : of the present time : modern, current.

Trying to nail down exactly what contemporary design looks like is next to impossible because, by definition, it's constantly changing to incorporate what's currently en vouge. Generally you can expect sleek lines, minimalist aesthetics, and a touch of sophistication come together...and sometimes a bit of something unexpected. Clean, open spaces that exude a sense of calm and of-the-moment chicness mean our contemporary designs are perfect for those seeking a polished and refined look.

Delicately balancing tradition with trends, Contemporary Design is all about having a solid foundation while still incorporating what is popular at the moment. Look for strongly contrasting neutrals with unfussy lines, exposed legs and plenty of natural light.

Entryway

Black and white never goes out of style and the combination is a fitting introduction to this contemporary home. Choosing a charcoal hue with warm undertones ensures the space feels inviting and plays nicely with the textured wood and wallcovering. Multiple landing areas means a place for everything...and that the clutter is always contained in this entryway.

Living Room

In crafting an inviting entertainment space, juxtaposing a bold black built-in TV backdrop with a fireplace, accentuated by a textured, warm rustic wood frame, yields a blend of charm and sophistication. The selection of cozy yet trendy furniture complements this aesthetic, creating an atmosphere that exudes both chic allure and welcoming comfort.

Bar & Library

Transform a bonus room into a space that you'll actually use! Deep green built-ins contrast with the gray flooring, leather furniture and an art-inspired rug making this the ideal place for entertaining small groups or spending time alone curled up with a good book and a better drink.

Kitchen

In this kitchen, cooking and entertaining are closely connected, creating an inviting atmosphere for gathering and enjoying delicious food, beverages, and company. The cabinets with tinted glass exude a sophisticated touch, while the sleek black backsplash beautifully complements the organic white countertops, creating an elegant area for meal preparation and showcasing exquisite dishes.
